Last week, 24 participants in the Prospects for Youth Twinning Program met at a resort in the town of Chok-Tal on the shores of lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan for the official opening of the program. The Kick-Off Meeting was the first time that the twinned pairs were able to meet face-to-face to discuss their work and future collaboration. (more…)
The Prospects for Youth expert jury met and made the final selection of the 24 organizations that will take part in the 10 month twinning program. The jury was impressed with all of the applicants, and wants to thank everyone who has shown interest in the program.
The 12 selected pairs of organizations will be carrying out cross-border youth projects between Kyrgyzstan and other participating countries over the course of 2018. In June, all of the full participants will meet for a kick-off meeting on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. Check back on our website to read about the organizations and their projects as they develop.
The Prospects for Youth online machine platform goes live today. All of the applicants who were selected to move on to the second stage of the program have been invited to log on to the platform and learn about their potential twinning partners. Until the end of the month, applicants will be able to communicate with one another and explore the ways in which their organizations can effectively collaborate if they are chosen to be full members of the program. 16 applicants from Kyrgyzstan and 16 applicants from other participating countries will take part in the platform.
The best matched pairs will become full members of the Prospects for Youth program. Members will attend a kick-off meeting for the twinning program on Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan in late June. We are looking forward to seeing the fruitful collaborations that will arise as a result of the matching process.
Here at Prospects for Youth, we are pleased to announce that we received over 85 applications from countries across Europe, the Eastern Partnership countries, and Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Organizations from Vilaboa-Pontevedra, Spain to Karakol, Kyrgyzstan and everywhere in between, were represented in the applicant pool. After a competitive evaluation process, the Prospects for Youth jury has selected 32 applications to move onto the second round of the selection process, where organizations will find international partnerships for collaboration and knowledge sharing. These partnerships will form the backbone of the “twinning” concept. We are excited to see what the selected applicants will bring to these partnerships. Check back here to keep up to date with our program and the projects that spring forth from the Prospects for Youth initiative.
